How to format possible answers for "short answer" type of quiz questions

In order for the answer to be counted as a correct, it has to be an exact match.

However, capitalization is not counted during comparison of strings. If a correct answer is "fuel" and students types "Fuel" it counts as a match. It is best to use this mode only for the question than can be answered with a word or with a number.

For the longer sentences, though, punctuation and even spaces matter. If an answer requires two words, you can add all possible combinations as answers. For example:
  • Oxygen and hydrogen
  • Oxygen & hydrogen
  • Hydrogen and oxygen
  • Hydrogen and oxygen
For the longer answers, it is best to use multichoice type of questions.
